Create a unique park that helps the city with the need for more youth sports, while embracing the unique project site and educating children of the importance of the Salinas River in a unique and fun filled manner.  In the end, the park wants to become a gem of the city, that the entire community feels proud about and enjoys for many years to come.

Larry Moore Park is located along the Salinas River near Downtown Paso Robles. Acquired by the city in 2008, the desired improvements include adding youth sports fields and a neighborhood playground. The unique location of the park has help direct the layout and feel, taking advantage of site constraints and ecology to ground the park and make it feel like it has always been apart of the river’s ecosystem.
The primary desire from the city was to incorporate U12 baseball/softball fields with soccer overlays possible. The fields will be light for year round use to help with the increasing population of the Paso Robles area.
Two playgrounds have been incorporate, including the ‘Salinas River Critter Playground’, which focuses on educating the youth of the importance of the Beaver to the Salinas River. A secondary smaller playground is also incoproarted in the ‘Pollinator Garden’, which helps educate the children of the many various pollinators our landscape depends on.
Additionally restrooms, storage, a Shaded Paseo for community events and shaded fitness area for seniors are all apart of the overall park planning. The park is still in the design phase and hopes to get under construction in the near future.
